Steve Whitesell is the Executive Editor for The Valve by Healthy Green Spaces Coalition and CEO of Radian Developers, a climate technology firm specializing in software, data analytics, research, and communications focused on outdoor water use and irrigation performance. With more than two decades of experience in software development and environmental data systems, Steve has led the creation of advanced visualization platforms and custom applications that help utilities, cities, and water agencies understand, manage, and improve water use across residential and commercial landscapes.
His work centers on translating complex irrigation and landscape data into practical tools—supporting irrigation auditing, water-use benchmarking, conservation reporting, and performance measurement for turf and green spaces. Through this work, Steve has helped organizations evaluate irrigation efficiency, compare outcomes across properties and regions, and clearly communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
As Executive Editor of the Healthy Green Spaces Coalition, Steve brings together his technical background, systems thinking, and communications expertise to guide the Coalition’s research, editorial direction, and data-driven storytelling. He works closely with municipalities, universities, nonprofits, and industry partners to surface credible insights on turf health, irrigation efficiency, and landscape management—connecting research, technology, and on-the-ground practice.
